History
I moved to Las Vegas after graduating college at Cal State Sacramento in 1987. I moved here because my best friend was stationed here at Nellis and it was a fun city. I got married in 1989 and bought a house. In 1991, my daughter Kalena was born. In 1994, my son Bryan was born. In 1996, I got divorced and it was back to the single life. In 2000, we got a German Shepherd puppy named Max. He was the best dog ever. Unfortunately, he died the day after he turned 2 years old. I will always remember him. I bought my current home (which I really love) in 2001. I got to watch it be built from the ground up. It was pretty cool. I moved in right after 9/11.
The "Good Ole Days".
When I first moved to Vegas, we would go out to clubs and it didn't cost and arm and a leg. Now you have to be on a "list" to get in and there are extravagant cover charges. They have "bottle" service which means they really rip you off for a bottle of booze. What happened to the good old days where you could go to Binions for .50 cent drinks first and then hit a club with a live band that played good music with little or no cover. The drinks were reasonably priced. Crackers even had $1 drink night. You could go the whole night on $20. Then on the way home you could stop at Binions again and get a full New York Steak dinner for $1.99 and it was really good too. But they only served it from 2AM to 6AM, or you could go to Palace Station and get a .50 cent breakfast of bacon and eggs with hash browns and toast. Of course, they charges you $2 for OJ, but hey, drink water. I guess I think some of the things they do now are ridiculous. It's all about the money. They make as much as they can on everything they can.
